Overview

The goal was to build a qualified pipeline of B2B leads at scale, without burning budget on paid ads. Using a prospecting tool, I pulled 17,315 contacts from 4,311 companies across 8 countries, segmented them by job title and geography, and narrowed the list down to 5,000 high-intent leads who were then exposed to the product and converted into trial users.

The Challenge

The client needed a large, targeted lead list fast. Their existing outreach was either too broad (low quality) or too manual (no scale). They needed decision-makers with budget authority, not random contacts. And they needed them across multiple international markets simultaneously.

How I Did It

  1. 1

    Define the ideal customer profile

Before touching any tool, I mapped out who the product was actually for. Based on the product's use case, the ICP came down to decision-makers in HR, operations, and executive leadership at mid-to-large companies. Job titles like Head of Department, HR Director, Operations Director, CIO, and COO were the targets.

  2. 2

Configure Explee to pull targeted contacts

I set up Explee with precise filters: geography (US, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, New Zealand, Netherlands), company size, and verified job titles. Explee's database gave access to verified contact data across all these markets, narrowing the search to people who were actually reachable and relevant.

  3. 3

Pull and validate 17,315 contacts via Explee

Explee returned 17,315 verified people across 4,311 companies. Each record included name, job title, company, country, and contact details. I reviewed the segment breakdown to confirm the distribution matched the ICP. The US alone had 9,408 contacts, the UK 3,649, with the rest spread across 6 other markets.

  4. 4

    Score and segment for intent

Not every scraped lead is worth reaching out to. I applied engagement and intent signals to score the list and identify the warmest contacts. Out of 17,315 total, 5,000 leads were flagged as high-intent based on signals that indicated they were actively evaluating solutions like the one being marketed.

  5. 5

Hand off to outreach and trial flow

The 5,000 hot leads were exported and routed into an outreach sequence. The campaign drove them toward a product trial, where they could experience the product firsthand. This converted raw scraped data into a measurable pipeline with real trial activity.
